SUMMARY & ELIGIBILITY:

Based on availability of funds, the organizing committee of the Ninth International Conference on Permafrost, with financial support from the International Permafrost Association and other sponsors, will make available a Young Person Financial Support Program. Both students and young persons who are within 5 years of their latest degree graduation date are eligible; however, only persons who are both lead-authors and presenters of papers or extended abstracts (including posters) can apply. Applicants must be registered (free) members of the Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN).

This young person financial support program is administered by PYRN, IPA,
and USPA. You will be notified regarding your application by April 1, 2008. No
funds will be transferred, as all expenses will be paid directly by NICOP. Note:
the stipend only includes a Proceedings CD and does not include airfare to
Alaska, extended field trip expenses, or the banquet.
